Creation of the Sustainable mobility index
Problema
Since 2015, Lithuania has provided national recommendations for municipalities to implement Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans to help Lithuania achieve sustainability goals as outlined in the European Green Deal and Sustainable Development Goals. Additionally, Lithuania is currently implementing the Sustainable Mobility Data Platform Project to collect data from all municipalities on sustainable mobility metrics.
Despite these advances, there is no methodology that currently exists to analyze the progress Lithuanian municipalities are making in achieving sustainable mobility goals.
This project aims to fill that gap by developing a sustainable mobility index that integrates data from the Sustainable Mobility Data Platform.
This index will allow policymakers, researchers, and the public to analyze how well Lithuanian municipalities are doing in achieving sustainable mobility and compare outcomes within Lithuania and across Europe, thereby informing policy decisions around infrastructure, investment, and sustainability.
Tikslas
The aim of the project is to create methodology which will assess Lithuania’s municipalities for sustainable mobility progress and allow comparison with other EU countries and within Lithuania.
