Euro Integration through Culture: Strengthening Cooperation between the Ukrainian Center and EUNIC Lithuania

6 March 2023 - 6 September 2023

Problem

The Ukrainian Center (the UAC) is a unique institution providing Ukrainians with the opportunity to preserve their culture and identity in the Republic of Lithuania as well as prepare them to be contributors and representators of Ukraine. That is why among of the UAC long-term strategic objectives are, 1) fulfil the role of cultural diplomacy tool representing Ukraine and Ukrainian community in Lithuania, 2) strengthening the Ukrainian community in Lithuania. The UAC has already made the first steps in this area: the high-level events such as the international forum “Pursuing President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Peace Formula: Joint Actions of Ukraine and Lithuania towards the Long-Lasting Peace”, etc. as well as “Youth Think Tank” have been showing the Center’s capacity to present Ukraine on the international level as well as to rally the young generation of Ukrainians in the discussion about the common values in Europe, politics and Euro integration, etc.

Close cooperation with EUNIC Lithuania (Lithuanian Cultural Institute, British Council, Goethe Institute, Institut français, Polish Institute) is a next step towards the abovementioned goals. It is a cultural diplomacy example to adopt and learn from, to bring the UAC’s activities to the international level, and to strengthen the Ukrainian community in Lithuania through joint projects with EUNIC.

Goal

The goals of the project are:

  1. to strengthen the cooperation between the Ukrainian Center and EUNIC Lithuania;
  2. to develop the recommendations for the Ukrainian Center as a soft power tool;
