Evaluation of opportunities for using AI tools in patient triage

9 September 2025 - 6 March 2026

Problem

According to a 2025 population survey commissioned by the the National Audit Office, 73% of respondents identified long waiting times and limited accessibility of health services as the main issues in the healthcare system. A digital triage system could help address this challenge by reducing the human resources required for initial patient consultation, referral to the appropriate specialist, and responding to patients’ questions.

Goal

The goal of the project is to analyze the applicability of AI tools for effective patient triage within the Lithuanian healthcare system.
