Motivation
International exchanges at school, stories about talented Lithuanians studying abroad and an endless desire to travel and explore the world gave me the impetus to study abroad. I chose the UK for a reason. It was a country that through its tools of warfare, exchange, diplomacy had managed to build a vast empire, to sow the practice of business, politics and law in various parts of the world, and the names of its universities often shine in the biographies of the world’s most influential and world–changing people. As a student, I realised that I also wanted to change the world.
When I was introduced to the Create Lithuania programme and read the words “national level”, “strategic projects” and “decision–making” in the programme description, I immediately realised that nowhere else in the world is there such a unique and extremely promising opportunity to develop and create for Lithuania at the same time. I was also inspired by the Alumni Programme, whose projects have proven that Lithuania needs talent and that they are given a great opportunity to work. In addition, knowing that 19 talented colleagues will be building Lithuania together with me, “Create Lithuania” has also become a great medium to share ideas, contacts and to be appreciated by your peers.
Combining the motivation to change the world and the opportunity to start it in Lithuania, I am here in Vilnius and I hope that the best practices I have learnt abroad will help Lithuania to progress along the path of a democratic, efficient free market and a secure state.
I am excited, proud and happy to be part of this programme!
