Motivation
I lived, studied and worked in the United Kingdom, China and France for six years. All this time I carried Lithuania with me – both in my head and in my heart. As soon as I had the opportunity, I went back. If there was no such opportunity, I myself created Lithuania around me – by bringing together the communities of Lithuanians living abroad to cook hundreds of “cepelinai” or compete among themselves on the basketball court; by shooting a Lithuanian television show in the Tuileries garden near the Louvre; by volunteering for Lithuanian organisations despite being thousands of kilometres away from them
Lithuania’s achievements make me jump for joy (and pride), whereas stagnation, mistakes and failures give me a headache. That’s why nothing motivates me more than the opportunity to generate positive changes so that everyone has as many reasons to jump as possible. I have worked towards that for quite a while now by helping several non–governmental organisations to alleviate poverty, reduce gender stereotypes, create civil society and popularise science.
Now is the time for the public sector. New challenges and… new opportunities to create changes!
