Motivation
When a colleague shared information about the programme, I didn’t hesitate to take part, and now I am delighted to be part of a young and enthusiastic team. Apart from the opportunity to work on strategic national projects, one of the most motivating aspects of taking part was having international peers with whom you can work in unison to achieve specific goals in the public sector.
Before going abroad to study, I obtained my Bachelor of Laws degree in Vilnius and at the same time did an internship at a Kaunas law firm. The exchange programme to the University of Lisbon gave me the opportunity to get acquainted not only with an active leisure activity – surfing in the ocean – but also with an international academic community. Since then, I became actively interested in the European Union and its legal system, and by the time I returned I had already decided where I would specialise. I also wanted to return to a multicultural community. I am happy with my choice to study at Stockholm University: the experience has helped me to organise my priorities and areas of interest.
Living abroad kept me abreast of current affairs in the Lithuanian public sector, political and economic developments. I have always wanted to return and work here, where my friends and family live, and together with them to build a new generation of Lithuanians who are socially responsible and civically active.
Learning from the Scandinavian culture, I would like to foster innovation and creativity in the public sector in the work environment, bring my international legal and economic experience to work on projects of national importance that improve the investment environment, and oversee competitiveness in Lithuanian markets through European Union regulatory practices.
There is no time to complain, it’s time to build for Lithuania!
