Motivation
I left to come back. In the recent years, I have gained knowledge and experience in the United States of America, England, Northern Ireland, Austria and Belgium, guided by the idea that my knowledge will later be useful to Lithuania. I kept postponing my return to Lithuania, but the rapidly changing geopolitical situation made me think that my homeland needs me now.
After completing my internship at the Legal Service of the European Commission, I continued working on migration and asylum policy at a humanitarian organization in Brussels. When I received an invitation to join the “Kurk Lietuvai” team, I could not refuse this opportunity. The realization of human rights and the freedom to realize one’s potential are inconceivable to me without the independence of a nation. And none other than us, Lithuanians, are responsible for safeguarding the nation’s independence and creating a well–being of life. The “Kurk Lietuvai” program is an extraordinary opportunity to purposefully apply the experience gained abroad in order to achieve positive changes in our country. I hope that being a part of it, I will be able to contribute at least a little to the creation of a brighter future for Lithuania.
