Motivation
Like many, I went to study in England, which at first really impressed me. Working on a crash course in the UK Government Economic Service after university only increased my fascination.
However, time passed, and I missed my family, my culture, my land more and more. After all, they say that great things are seen from afar. I wanted to return more and more often, but I was stopped by doubts about whether I would find a job according to my abilities at home. However, after several years of internal maturation, after living in England for a total of nine years, I decided to take a risk, leave my beloved job and return to Lithuania. Even more so because it seemed to me that my efforts in a developed country of 60 million people are not as felt and important as they could be at home.
Of course, I was concerned about the question: How can I better use the practice and knowledge gained abroad, and especially in the English civil service, so that they serve Lithuania as much as possible? It was at that time that I accidentally heard about the “Kurk Lietuvai” program and I was very happy, because I thought that it would answer my question like no one else.
I hope that through this program I will be able to serve my country by sharing my experience in the public sector. Maybe one person is not very much, but we want to believe that our joint efforts will be felt and will serve the well–being of people.
