Motivation

As a teenager, I didn’t think I would go out into the world to find happiness. I thought that Lithuania was fun to live in, that everything was my own, but there was also something to do, something to improve, and I thought that I wouldn’t be bored when I grew up here. Then I finished school, enrolled at Vilnius University and after a year I realised that maybe it would be good to study abroad – not because it would have been bad for me here, but to see how different the world is. I went to the UK – six years of studying, then teaching others, earning, travelling and participating in projects, but always wondering when it would be time to come home. I don’t regret leaving – it’s a very healthy experience, when you leave you start to notice things that work in other countries that don’t work in your own, you start to think “oh, it would be good to have them here”. When you go away, you see Lithuania from a different angle. And you start to see what could be changed. And “Create Lithuania” gives you such an opportunity – to do things, to work in such a way that others are also sparked by something inside that encourages them to create not only for themselves, but also for Lithuania.
