Motivation

I don’t know if it’s deliberate or not, but I’ve never been in my “comfort zone” for too long. And in fact, I can fully say that my true self–knowledge – my goals and ambitions – have only been shaped by challenging myself in new environments and new experiences. Studies, internships, volunteering and work experiences in different countries have not only allowed me to contribute to value creation in academic and professional activities, but also to learn a lot from the new people, cultures, social norms and habits I have met. Through these processes, I have realised that the most meaningful and motivating activities are those that aim at positive change.

My last stop before joining the Kurk Lietuvai programme was Amsterdam, where a year after my Master’s degree I was already working in a start–up implementing innovative solutions for cities that want to join the circular economy. The main motivation for our work was not technological innovation, but changes in people’s behaviour, which is the real innovation. I am looking forward to applying my knowledge and, of course, learning a lot through the Kurk Lietuvai programme.
